The Punjab government has issued a letter regarding Quran Teaching in Schools of Punjab (Periods per week). So, the Punjab textbook board has submitted this letter to all DEAs in the province.
However, Teachers will teach Nazra Quran for Grades 1 to 5 and turjama for classes 6 to 12. Now teaching of holy Quran is compulsory for all Muslim students. Therefore, the government has announced under Act 2018.

The PCTB has notified the Curriculum of the teaching of “Nazarah Quran for Grades I-V” and “Translation for grades 6 to 12 as a separate compulsory subject for implementation in all educational institutions (Public Sector, and Private Sector and Deni Madaris) in Punjab as per approval of the BOG in its 87th meeting dated 07.10.2021(Annex-A).
The Curriculum of the teaching of “Naazra Quran for Grades I-V” and “Translation of the Holy Quran for Grades VI-XII” is also available at PCTB’s Website (https://mis.pctb.punjab.gov.pk/home/comments/49/Curriculums/42).
5. The PCTB has published the textbooks of “Tajweed Qaida for Grade I” and “Tarjama-tul-Quran-ul-Majeed for Grades VI, VII, VIII, IX & XI” for the Academic Session 2022-23.
The textbooks of “Tarjama-tul-Quran-ul-Majeed for Grades X & XII” will also be available for the forthcoming Academic Session 2023-24. 6. It is, therefore, requested to make necessary arrangements for teaching of “Naazrah Quran for Grades I-V” and “Translation of the Holy Quran for Grades VI-XII” as per Schedule mentioned above and ensure its teaching in all educational institutions (Public Sector / Private Sector / Deeni Madaris) within your jurisdiction and monitor its implementation in letter and spirit. 7. The textbooks of “Tajweedi Qaida for Grade-I” and “Tarjama-tul-Quran-ul-Majeed for Grades VI, VII, VIII, IX & XI” are available at PCTB ‘s Website (https://pctb.punjab.gov.pk/E-Book%202022) free of cost.
