Summer Vacations Announced in Punjab
Summer
vacations have been announced in Punjab schools and colleges.
It has been announced by the Education
Department of Punjab that all schools shall remain closed from 1st
June to 14th August 2024.
The notification said as follows: “All
public and private schools throughout Punjab shall remain closed for summer
vacation from Saturday, June 1, 2024, to Wednesday, August 14, 2024.”
“All (Educational Institutes) schools in the province shall reopen w.e.f 15-08-2024 (Thursday),” it continued.
The official notification by the Government of
the Punjab is as follows:
As per notification, heat-prone areas will have
summer vacations from May 15 to July 31, while colder regions will enjoy a
10-day vacation from July 22 to July 31.
· • In the upcoming days, two provinces—Sindh and KPK—are anticipated
to declare summer breaks for students.
· • Every year, public and private schools in Punjab take a break for
more than two months during the summer.
· Last year, summer vacations lasted from June 6 to August 20, 2023,
with schools reopening on August 21.
· Lahore’s schools are likely to follow a provincial schedule,
providing relief to students during the hot months of summer.

As the temperature rises in Punjab, Lahore
is already experiencing a temperature of 33 degrees Celsius, and further
increase is predicted, so for the government, the safety of the students has
become a priority.
To shield them from scorching heat
and potential health risks like heat stroke and dehydration, all public and
private schools across Punjab are set to close for more than two months as part
of the annual Summer Vacations.

The weather forecast indicates that
the temperature is likely to soar to 39 degrees Celsius in May 2024 and surpass
40 degrees Celsius in June 2024. So the government decided to give summer
holidays to students for 2 months.
According to the notification from the Education
Department of Punjab, all public and private schools shall remain closed.
If this order by the government is
not followed by any government or private school, strict action will be taken against
that school whether public or private.
These summer vacations have some
advantages as well.

The
students have some time to spend with their parents.
2.
They
get some activities as homework from their teachers to perform during these
holidays.
3.
By
giving students some activities as homework teachers get to know about the students’
intelligence level.
4.
Students
by staying at home remain safe from the scorching heat and health risks like
heat stroke and dehydration.
These were some advantages
according to me.
So the schools will remain closed for about two
months from Saturday, June 1, 2024, to Wednesday, August 14, 2024,
