What is
Shab-e-Meraj:
Shab means ‘’evening’’ or ‘’Night’’.
Shab-e-Meraj is that Holy evening on which Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) visited
the seven skies and Heaven.
Story of
Shab-Meraj:
According to Islamic tradition, on
this holy night, Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) was taken by the angel Jibril (A.S)
from Kaaba to the Masjid-al-Aqsa. In Masjid-al-Aqsa he led prayers with the
previous prophets, including Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S), Hazrat Adam (A.S), and all
the other prophets who came into this world before Him (S.A.W.W).
After that, He went to visit heaven,
where He met Allah Almighty and received revelation and guidance.
The creature on
which Rasool (S.A.W.W) VISITED heaven:
The Rasool (S.A.W.W) went to visit heaven
on an animal called Buraq. It is a creature that is described in the Holy
Quran. It is said that this creature is faster than the speed of light.
How do Muslims
celebrate Shab-e-Meraj?
Muslims celebrate Shab-e-Meraj by
reciting the Holy Quran and by doing extra prayers. Some people say that on
Shab-e-Meraj the death date of the people is decided whether they will live in the next year or not.

Shab-e-Meraj:
Shab-e-Meraj is very important for
Muslims. On this day They perform additional prayers. Some people spend their
full night praying and reciting the Holy Quran to gain the glory of Allah.
