Safar is the second Islamic month. The
month of Safar will start on 5 August 2024, depending
on whether the moon is visible.
Information about
the month of Safar:
Safar is an Arabic word meaning
‘’Empty’’. This month is so named because in this month the houses were empty
as people were gone to search for food.
Most of the Islamic months are named
after their weather conditions just like Safar as it also means ‘’whistling of
the wind’’. It refers to the windiest time of the year. Since now the lunar
calendar is being followed, the month shifts 11-day gap each year That means
the seasons do not apply to them anymore.

Safar: The prisoners of the Karbala battle
entered the castle of Yazid in Syria.
13th
Safar: Martyrdom of Bibi Sakina i.e.,
Sukayna Bint Hussain (R.A), the youngest daughter of Hussain Ibn Ali (R.A).
20 or 21 Safar: Chehlum of Hussain Ibn Ali (R.A) which is also
known as Arbaeen.
27th Safar:
Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) migrated
from Makkah to Madina
28th
Safar: Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) fell ill
five days before He (S.A.W.W) left this world.
28th
Safar: Martyrdom of Hassan Ibn Ali (R.A) the
elder son of Hazrat Ali (R.A).
