Meaning of Jamadi-ul-Awal:
The word Jamadi-ul-Awal originates from
Jamad meaning dry, arid, or rainless. The second name given to it is
Jamada-al-Awal meaning commit, to take charge with or care for the
parched month.

Battle of Motta:
During this month, the Battle of Motta
took place. Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) did not take part in it. Hazrat Zaid (R.A),
the leader of the army was preferred for the battle.
This battle was named Motta because it
took place in the city of Motta which is located in Syria.
Marriage of Nabi
(S.A.W.W) with Hazrat Khadija (R.A):
In this month Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W.W) got
married to Hazrat Khadija (R.A).
Martyrdom of
Hazrat Zaid (R.A):
In this month the martyrdom of Hazrat Zaid
(R.A) also occurred.
Martyrdom of
Hazrat Jafar (R.A):
The martyrdom of Hazrat Jafar (R.A)
also occurred in it. Lastly, the Martyrdom of Abdulla (R.A) also happened in
this month.
This month, Rasool (S.A.W.W) lost his
grandfather Hazrat Abdul Muttalib (R.A).

Muhammad left this world at the age of 23.
13 Jamadi-ul-Awal;
Hazrat Fatima (R.A) after her death,
was buried by her Husband Hazrat Ali (R.A).

Battle of Camel fought between Hazrat
