Punjab Budget 2024-25, Salaries and Pensions
The Punjab fiscal year 2024-2025 budget is presented
on Thursday 13th June 2024 and signed by the C.M. of Punjab Maryam Nawaz.
The outlines of the budget are 1863 total
schemes out of which 1617 are ongoing and 246 new schemes.
Increase in salaries
In this budget, it has been announced that there
will be a 25% increase in salaries. That means every Government employee will
enjoy 25% more salary than the current salary. This 25% increased salary will
be given to the employees from August. Because this 25% will start adding to
the salaries from 1st July 2024 hence the employees will get it in
August.
Increase in Pensions
The finance minister has also announced a 15%
increase in pensions to support retired government employees. This increase seems
very less but I guess something is better than nothing. This increase will prove
helpful for retired government employees.
How to calculate the increase in salaries
The simple trick to calculate the salary
increase is that:
· First get a calculator and then see
your salary slip for May 2024 and check the basic salary that you were paid in
May 2024.
· If the increase in your salary is
according to the running basic then the employees from 1 to 16 grade multiply
your basic salary by 0.25.
· And the grade 17 to 22 employees, you
multiply your pay by 0.20.
· After multiplying the answer, you get your
pay from August 2024
