Today I am sharing a topic regarding primary and secondary teachers’ advanced increments. So, all teachers will get these increments according to the described rules.
However, I have shared a few rules about advance increments here on this page. I hope all teachers will get this information with the best for future use.
Primary and Secondary Teacher’s Advance Increments
GRANT OF ADVANCE INCREMENTS TO TEACHERS (PST, EST, S.V, SST) IN PUNJAB
In addition, by the Finance Department Punjab in terms of Para 15 (1 & II & Ill) of circular letter No. FD.PC.2- 1/83 Dated 25.08.1983, and Letter No. FD.PR.12-5/84 Dated 31.01.1988. Hence, the increments granted under the letter dated 31.01.1988 have also been restored in light of FD’s Letter No. FD.SRV.21-36/17 Dated 19.01.2022.
However, after that, the scheme of granting Advance Increments was discontinued w.e.f. 01.12.2001 vide Finance Department’s Policy letter no. FD.PC.2-1/2001 Dated 22.10.2001.

So, “15 Advance Increments to School Teachers on attaining higher qualification: Primary, Middle and High School Teachers who possess or acquire while in service higher qualifications shall be allowed advance increments as under: –
I-PRIMARY SCHOOLS
(i) A teacher who possesses or acquires FA/F.Sc shall be allowed in 2 advance increments. (ii) A teacher who (in addition to FA/F.Sc) also possesses or acquires C.T. shall be allowed 1 additional advance increment. (iii) A teacher who possesses or acquires a degree of BA/B.Sc shall be allowed 3 additional advance increments. (2 Advance Increments on acquiring the degree of B.Ed and 1 Advance Increment on acquiring the degree of M. A/M.Sc, vide letter Dated 31.01.1988, clarified)
II-MIDDLE SCHOOLS
However, a teacher who possesses or acquires a degree of BA/B.Sc. The government has allowed 3 advance increments to that one. (2 Advance Increments on acquiring the degree of B.Ed and 1 Advance Increment on acquiring the degree of M. A/M.Sc, vide letter Dated 31.01.1988, clarified)
III-HIGH SCHOOLS
In other words, a teacher who possesses or acquires a master’s degree shall be allowed 3 advance increments. In case of a teacher who possesses or acquires a master’s degree in Education (M.Ed) and also a master’s degree in any academic subject shall be allowed 6 Advance Increments”.

English Teacher
Para 15(III) is meant for High School Teachers whereas the English Teachers as Elementary School Teachers show the designation i.e., E.S.T (Eng). Moreover, Finance Department Letter No. FD.PR.12- 5/84 Dated 31.01.1988 also explains the position that the increments to the Middle School Teachers on acquiring or possessing higher qualifications shall be as under: –
i. B.Ed 2 Advance Increments.
ii. M.A/M.Sc 1 Advance Increments
So, the EST (English) for possessing/acquiring a higher qualification of M. A/M.Sc & M.Ed shall be allowed equal to one increment in the light of the letter dated 31.01.1988 or three increments?
